I'm Munch, a software developer living in the North American Central Time Zone. Many things capture my interest, and this website features some of them.

About

Hello! I usually go by the nickname Munch on the internet. I'm a person with many interests and hobbies and not enough time for all of them. Having played the trumpet for over a decade, I use to be heavily involved in concert winds, jazz bands, and marching bands. Now, I've been taking lessons to learn the piano. I enjoy anime, music, food, videogames, programming, and more. I'm also an undergraduate student studying computer science with an emphasis on software engineering.

Previously, I was a Software Engineering Intern at a software consulting company. Currently, I'm working part-time on campus as an IT student worker.

Now

Here is what I'm up to nowadays.

Two months ago the fall semester started, so I've just been going to classes and studying. Additionally, I've been playing a lot of video games on my PC and PS4, having fun with cool people, as well as watching a lot of anime. I'm currently watching season 2 of Made in Abyss.

What do I use?

I primarily use Windows and have used a wide variety of Linux distros (Ubuntu, Linux Mint Fedora, Debian, Kali Linux). At the moment, I'm running Windows 11 on my Lenovo Flex 8GB 128GB SSD laptop, Windows 10 on my personal desktop, and Arch Linux on my Lenovo ThinkPad T410.

Tokyo Night is my custom-built personal desktop:

  • ASUS TUF Gaming X570-PRO (WI-FI) ATX AM4
  • EVGA FTW3 Ultra Gaming GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB
Despite my many grievances with Google, Chrome is still my main web browser due to being too lazy to move all my stuff over to a new browser. Lately, I've been using Microsoft Edge on my Lenovo Flex and I use Firefox on my ThinkPad.

My primary device is my desktop. I use the Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse and the Akko 3068 Black & Cyan Wireless mechanical keyboard with Jelly Pink switches, which was a birthday gift from a dear friend of mine. When it comes to audio, I listen with a set of Corsair HS50 Gaming headphones and I speak using an Audio-Technica AT2035 cardioid condenser microphone, both powered by the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen USB audio interface, which were Christmas gifts. When I'm not using headphones, I pretty much use the Coby Home Theater speakers which I received years ago from my dad. I use the Redragon M801 Gaming Mouse LED RGB and BT21 Baby Koya Wireless Silent Mouse for my laptops.

I use a Samsung Galaxy S21+ for my phone. I have a Raspberry Pi 3 that sits on the top shelf of my desk alongside my Metal Gear Solid rubber ducky.
